I never imagined the journey that would bring me from Latvia to America—nor the deep love I would come to feel for this country and its people.
I was born under Soviet rule, where we were taught to fear freedom even as we longed for it. Music became my voice long before I had one in life. It carried me across oceans, across languages, and into a world I now call home.
When I became a citizen of the United States, I felt something more than pride—I felt belonging. I married a Gulf War veteran. I watched my stepson proudly put on the uniform of the U.S. Army. My young son, too, dreams of serving this nation one day.
Through this album, I wanted to offer something in return. A small piece of beauty. A voice raised in gratitude—for liberty, for second chances, for those who serve and sacrifice in silence.
This is not just a collection of songs. It is a dedication to the country that gave me the freedom to sing, the family that stands for something greater than themselves, and the people who make this nation what it is: imperfect, but enduring.
